Moyes focused on league

Everton manager David Moyes was delighted with his team's professionalism following their 2-0 away win against Sunderland. The Toffees have an FA Cup final with Chelsea at the end of May and many had written off their League campaign as a formality until their Wembley fixture before this weekend's encounter. However, Everton still have eyes on a fifth-place finish and moved a step towards achieving this with a solid display at the Stadium of Light, and Moyes was keen to point out that his team remain focused on the league campaign. "The big game at the end of month is undoubtedly on the players' mind but they got a result today and we have given ourselves a real chance of making fifth," he told Sky Sports. "We are trying to keep focused on the Premier League but it is very difficult when you have a final coming up against Chelsea not to be thinking about it in some way." Steven Pienaar was the hero in a man of the match display in which he scored one and made the other, and he savoured what was only his second goal of the season. "I have been missing a lot of opportunities and the goal today means a lot to me," he said. The South African is now focused on securing a Europa League place and maintaining form going into the FA Cup final clash with Chelsea. "We definitely cannot afford to switch off," he said. "It is important to the team to keep fit and to keep winning games. We need the confidence going into the final."
