Moyes fears Toffees cash shortage

Everton manager David Moyes has warned Toffees supporters that a top-10 finish could be beyond the club's reach next season. The Toffees are currently sixth in the Premier League table, only four points adrift of the Champions League places. But after delays in the building of a new stadium have lead to doubts over investment, Moyes is preparing for another cash-strapped summer."I've thought about what happens if I don't have any cash and whether I would be able to sustain Everton being a top club," he told the Daily Express"But I'm not sure the club could be in the top half of the league."At the start of the season, I thought getting in the top 10 could be a big achievement, but we have gone on to galvanise and kick on again. So who knows?"But if there was no money then there is no guarantee that Everton could be a top-10 club next year.Everton made a stuttering start to the current campaign after an inactive summer in the transfer market, although former Manchester United striker Louis Saha and record-signing Marouane Fellani were brought in before the end of the transfer window. The Scottish manager fears that the same fate might befall the club next year if they are not able to spend at the end of this season.Moyes added: "We've seen the implications of what happened last year and we didn't start the season as well as we might have done."We were given plenty of notice and warning about it and I just hope we're not in a similar situation at the start of next season."[LNB]
