Moyes dashes Hoops talk

David Moyes has distanced himself from the vacant manager's job at Celtic by insisting he is happy at Everton.[LNB] The former Hoops star has been touted as a possible successor to Gordon Strachan at Parkhead, with the Glasgow giants keen to land a coach with considerable experience.[LNB]Moyes has spent the last six years moulding a successful side at Goodison Park, displaying all the attributes to suggest he would be a success with the Old Firm outfit.[LNB]However, the Glasgow giants look doomed to failure in their efforts to lure Moyes back to Scotland.[LNB]An approach is already believed to have been made by the Hoops board, but their intended target insists he has unfinished business on Merseyside.[LNB]"There may well have been an inquiry from Celtic but that doesn't interest me," said Moyes.[LNB]"I am not tempted to take any steps. At the moment I am the Everton manager. I am a really loyal person.[LNB]"I am also really ambitious. I will make sure the chairman stays ambitious and the club remains ambitious. We can't stop.[LNB]"After this I will have a holiday and then try to bring in one or two new players."[LNB]Moyes' greatest ambition is to break into the Premier League's top four on a consistent basis, having already achieved that target once back in 2005.[LNB]FundsHe does, however, accept that his budget is considerably smaller than that of the sides he is trying to topple, and that continues to hinder his cause.[LNB]"We have to hang on to the coat tails of those above," he said following Everton's fifth placed finish in the 2008/09 campaign.[LNB]"Last summer I thought we had a chance. We could not quite get there but we have not fallen away.[LNB]"Sometimes you have to persevere as a manager. You don't always have big funds."[LNB]Moyes might not enjoy the financial clout of some of Everton's rivals, but he insists the Toffees remain one of English football's most prestigious clubs.[LNB]"Money might give me more scope but I am at a great football club, one that matches my ambitions, he said.[LNB]"There are not many bigger clubs in England than Everton.[LNB]"Just because other clubs have owners with a lot of money does that mean they are bigger?[LNB]"Football goes in cycles. I think ours is close to coming around again."[LNB]
