Everton boss David Moyes believes Tim Cahill would be a deserving recipient of this season's Player of the Year award.[LNB] The Australian has been pivotal to the Toffees this term, with his versatility enabling him to cover several different roles.[LNB]He has operated in his preferred midfield position, as a playmaker charged with opening up defences and as an out-and-out striker.[LNB]Noted for his ability to snatch vital goals in big games he has one again proven to be a useful attacking weapon in Moyes' arsenal.[LNB]Key strikes at crucial times have helped Everton into sixth spot in the Premier League table, with European qualification now well within reach.[LNB]Moyes believes that Cahill's achievements deserve to be acknowledged on a grander stage than that he is awarded at Goodison Park, and hopes the all-action star will be rewarded with such accolades at the end of the season.[LNB]Spirit"I think Tim is all about the spirit he gives to the team and his all round play," said the Toffees manager.[LNB]"It's not always just his form in the game, it's what he gives to the team and what he gives to the club.[LNB]"Maybe people in time will look at Tim and see him as a player who is worthy of that top spot (player of the season)."[LNB]Meanwhile, Everton could be heading to Cahill's homeland over the summer should arrangements for a tour Down Under be put in place without any hitches.[LNB]The Toffees have already sounded out Perth Glory as potential pre-season opponents and are currently looking for commitment from another club.[LNB]Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC are both believed to be keen, with Cahill expected to be a big draw wherever he goes.[LNB]
