Moyes aware of United talk

David Moyes is flattered by talk of succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United but insists his focus is solely on winning silverware for Everton. The Toffees chief has impressed during his seven-year stewardship at Goodison Park and has often earned praise from his fellow Scot at Old Trafford. Ferguson has long since been an admirer of the work Moyes has done at both Preston, who gave him his managerial break, and Everton, who he has established as a side that regularly occupies the higher echelons of the Premier League despite a relatively modest budget. Everton face Manchester United in an FA Cup semi-final next Sunday as Moyes bids to guide his side to a first Wembley final in 14 years. While pleased with the praise issued in his direction, Moyes is refusing to be distracted ahead of what is a massive game in the club's calendar. No distractions "I try not to take any notice but obviously stuff comes back to you. It is nice. But maybe it's Alex Ferguson having a different kind of mind games . . . to soften David Moyes up," he told the News of the World. "That might be the case or it might not. But I would never be disloyal or disrespectful to my club. "Yes, it's a nice thing. But was it not only a year ago that people were saying it was going to be Roy Keane or Mark Hughes or Martin O'Neill taking over from Sir Alex? "I really enjoy this job and I'd like to win something for these supporters. A lot of supporters get fed up with managers being changed. Everton supporters have been really good to me and I'd like to give them something back. It would be a great way to cap the season."
