Everton striker Andrew Johnson faces more tests on Monday after injuring his left ankle in Sunday's 2-0 victory at Wigan Athletic.
The former Crystal Palace star had to be substituted on the hour after sustaining the problem, but preliminary checks revealed 'no obvious fracture'.
"Andy was taken off after injuring his left ankle," Everton's physio Mick Rathbone told the club's official website.
"He was taken to the casualty department at Wigan Infirmary where a series of X-rays were done.
"There's no obvious fracture but we'll be undertaking a few more specific investigations on Monday."
On Everton's win at the JJB Stadium, Everton boss David Moyes said: "The conditions didn't help us and we knew it would be a struggle but we got there in the end.
"It was a dogged performance and we knew we were capable of getting a win.
"The pitch was soft and that helped Wigan, but we stuck at it and got there in the end."
