    Month out for McFadden

    14 Sep 2006 - 14:42:20

Everton forward James McFadden will be out of action for around a month after picking up a hamstring injury on international duty.

McFadden missed last weekend's 3-0 Merseyside derby victory after pulling up during Scotland's 2-1 win in Lithuania in a Euro 2008 qualifier.

The club's medical staff have now had time to fully assess the problem and the verdict was not good news for the 23-year-old.

Head physio Mick Rathbone told Everton's official website: "James McFadden injured his hamstring, as we all saw watching the game unfolding on television last week - and that is your worst nightmare when the player is thousands of miles away.

"The injury happened eight days ago and he is doing okay, doing some light jogging but there is a small tear there so he is going to be out for up to a month."
