McCarthy coy over cash boost
Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy is remaining coy over claims the club are set to receive a cash injection from Joleon Lescott's proposed move to Manchester City.
Everton defender Lescott is poised to complete a reported £24million switch from Goodison Park to cash-rich side City on Monday.
Lescott left Wolves for the Toffees in a deal worth £5million in 2006 that also allegedly included sell-on clauses that could now benefit Wolves.
It is suggested Wolves are to receive in the region of £2.5million if the City deal goes through, but McCarthy is calm over claims he could be about to receive a transfer boost.
When asked about a potential windfall, he told Sky Sports News: "So everybody keeps telling me, I wouldn't talk about it because it is not my job to do that.
"Jez (Moxey), as chief executive, deals with all that. When I've needed supporting I've been supported in the transfer market and nothing will change.
"Let's see what happens."
