Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson believes Everton could have a new stadium within two years.

Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright and billionaire majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri met with Anderson in London on Tuesday to discuss the possibilities.

"Great meeting with Farhad. Still believe a new stadium in 2 yrs is achievable. #COYB" said the Everton-supporting Mayor in a tweet which was also accompanied by a photograph of the three at the meeting.

Everton are looking at docklands-based site or land at Stonebridge Cross in Croxteth after plans to develop on Walton Hall Park were abandoned in May, just two months after Moshiri bought into the club.
