Manchester United v Everton Kick-off: Sun Apr 19, 4.00pm, Wembley Stadium, London TV: ITV1, ITV HD, Setanta Sports 2 Radio: BBC Radio Five Live The 23-year-old remains a hate figure among the Goodison Park contingent for moving to Manchester United, despite once sporting a t-shirt declaring "once a Blue always a Blue". But Rooney insists the taunting inspires him to give better performances. As United prepare to travel south, Rooney, confident his side can reach the finals, said: "There's always banter between me and the fans but it doesn't run too deep. "All the stick I get just makes me want to do better but it doesn't bother me that much because I expect it whenever I play Everton." A member of Everton's youth academy for six years and a senior player for two, Rooney admits there are still remnants of the young boy who supported David Moyes' side throughout his childhood in him. "Theirs is the result I still look out for first," he said. "I still want Everton to do well. I've said before that I'd love them to finish second in the league to us. "It's just always a bit strange when I face them, because they're the club I supported growing up and then played for. "I'm looking forward to Sunday's game and there will be mixed feelings whatever the outcome." Rooney has, in the past, been seen to lose his temper against Everton but he insists that this weekend is all about ensuring United remain on course to clinch a historic quintuple. Eager to be in the starting line up having been ruled out of United's last date at the national stadium, Rooney said: "I missed the Carling Cup final when we last got to Wembley, so hopefully I will be part of the team that gets us to another final. "It makes it a big day for me, although the most important thing is for United to reach the final."
