Manchester City to 'unveil Joleon Lescott today'

The Sun claims Everton have reluctantly accepted a £22 million offer and Lescott will sign a four-year, £90,000-a-week contract with Mark Hughes' men. If Lescott's move to City does go through, it will take their spending beyond the £100m mark this summer following the captures of Gareth Barry, Roque Santa Cruz, Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure. Hughes has been chasing 26-year-old Lescott all summer as he looks to build a team capable of breaking into the Premier League's top four. Defence was the main concern for City, but with the arrival of Toure from Arsenal, Lescott is now the final piece of the puzzle. Everton manager David Moyes had been determined not to lose the England international, but City's financial muscle has reportedly proved too strong. Moyes will now look to wrap up a deal for Arsenal centre-back Phlippe Senderos as Lescott's likely replacement. Everton will make a £17m profit on Lescott should he sign on at Eastlands, with Everton having initially brought him to Goodison from Wolves for £5m in 2006.
