David Moyes launched an astonishing attack on Manchester City before Saturday night's match, dredging up the bitter transfer of Joleon Lescott and risking an outbreak of hostilities between Everton and their visitors at Goodison. [LNB]Writing in the Everton match programme, their manager showed just how bitter he still is about the way City lured Lescott away last summer. He even accused City of 'breaking the rules' and having 'no class', as he reopened old wounds in the build-up to last night's big game. [LNB] Everton move: Lescott joined Manchester City in the summer[LNB]Moyes said: 'There is no doubt that Manchester City Football Clubtreated us with little respect and broke rules in the summer transferof Joleon Lescott. I found it very difficult to accept that a club thatuntil recently had so many similarities to Everton should suddenlystart acting with no class.[LNB]Angry Moyes: The Everton boss slams City [LNB]'It wasn't long ago that City were very similar, in financial terms,to most teams, but then a couple of changes in ownership at the clubsaw things change quickly for them - and with that comes a great dealof expectation.[LNB] 'Manchester City have undoubtedly become the biggest spenders not only in the Premier League but also in the world.' [LNB]For all that, it was clear that Moyes bears his opposite numberRoberto Mancini no malice, since the Lescott saga took place under thestewardship of former manager Mark Hughes.[LNB] Moyes added: 'I'd like to welcome Roberto Mancini to Goodison and Ihope he enjoys his time in English football. I wish him well, butobviously after the game against us.' [LNB]But the Scot had clearly not forgotten - nor forgiven - City'stactics as they first unsettled and then bought England defenderLescott, with little regard for Moyes and his wishes.
