Louis lifts the lid on leech cure

Published: 02 Sep 2010 - 10:00:00

Everton striker Louis Saha has revealed he has used leeches to help his chronic knee problems. The 32-year-old France international has been troubled by problems in his knees throughout his career, resulting in a number of lengthy spells on the sidelines. However, the Toffees frontman has visited his grandparents in Guadeloupe and used the unorthodox technique, which appears to have eased his pain. "I went to visit my grandparents in Guadeloupe and I put leeches on my swollen knees," he said. "Since then I've had a knee that is not quite right but given what happened to my ligaments I have to accept it. "It swells up less and I feel fine now." Saha is in line to play for France against Belarus on Friday night, having made one Premier League start and two substitute appearances for David Moyes' men this season.
