Former Sweden midfielder Freddie Ljungberg has been named to the MLS All Stars team to face English club Everton on July 29 in Salt Lake City, the league said on Monday. Ljungberg will line up against English Premier League opposition for the first time since he left West Ham United in 2008 after nine years with Arsenal. He cancelled his contract with West Ham after injury problems and there was scepticism over his move to Seattle but he has turned out to be a fans' favourite. Landon Donovan, the U.S. international and LA Galaxy forward, was selected as an All-Star for the ninth time in nine years in the league while Kasey Keller, the 39-year-old goalkeeper, is in the side for the first time after spending his career in Europe. The MLS All-Star squad will be coached by Houston Dynamo's Dominic Kinnear who will name a further five players before the game and select the starting team. MLS All-Star First XI: Kasey Keller (Seattle Sounders), Geoff Cameron (Houston Dynamo), Chad Marshall (Colombus Crew), Wilman Conde (Chicago Fire); Shalrie Hoseph (New England Revolution), Guillermo Barros Schelotto (Colombus Crew), Dwayne De Rosario (Toronto), Stuart Holden (Houston), Freddie Ljungberg (Seattle Sounders); Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy), Conor Casey (Colorado Rapids).
