Liverpool in £6m swoop for Brazil's 'Blue Gladiator' Kleber

Brazilian striker Kleber de Souza Freitas says Liverpool have made a £6million bid to sign him from Cruzeiro. Eastern promise: Kleber impressed during a four-year stint in Ukraine. But the 25-year-old appears lukewarm on moving to the Barclays Premier League. 'Cruzeiro have the offer,' he told SporTV. 'I don't have an answer today. My desire is to stay, but I would have to talk to Cruzeiro and things can get complicated. 'I always said that I wanted to play in Brazil, to make history, because I know that is possible. We have seen that with Ronaldo and Adriano - that is very cool. 'I also know that the club needs to sell. So, let's see.' The skilful striker, nicknamed the Blue Gladiator, has scored 13 in 13 games since joining Cruzeiro from Dynamo Kiev in February. He had a very successful four-year spell in the Ukraine, averaging a goal every other game and winning the domestic league twice and cup three times. Despite growing calls in Brazil, Kleber has not yet been capped. However, he would not need a work permit because he holds an Italian passport. He has previously been linked with Everton.
