Steven Pienaar is the latest Merseyside star to be robbed while turning out for his club. A 41-year-old man arrested in connection with a burglary at the home of Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar has been bailed. The 27-year-old South African's home was broken into on Saturday while he was at Goodison Park preparing to play Tottenham, a police source said. Pienaar is the latest Merseyside star to suffer at the hands of burglars. Everton team-mate Andy van der Meyde has been robbed twice, while former star Duncan Ferguson was also burgled on two occasions. Steven Gerrard, Jermaine Pennant, Dirk Kuyt, Pepe Reina, Daniel Agger, Peter Crouch, Jerzy Dudek, Lucas, Florent Sinama-Pongolle and Robbie Keane have also been victims while playing for Liverpool in recent times. Merseyside Police say officers were called to the house on Woolton Road in the exclusive Woolton suburb of Liverpool at about 2.30pm. Three white men were seen leaving the house with their faces covered. It is not known if any property was taken. Police said a 41-year-old local man arrested on suspicion of burglary was bailed. Reports say thousands of pounds in cash and valuables were stolen. He is thought to be the 16th Premier League player burgled while playing.
