Chinese midfielder Li Tie is confident that a permanent deal can be struck to ensure he is an Everton player next season.

The 25-year-old was on loan at Goodison Park from Liaoning Bodao last season and impressed for David Moyes' side.

Now, after initial negotiations broke down, the schemer believes that a deal can be finalised this summer.

He told the club's official website: "I can safely say the negotiations are moving along quite smoothly.

"While I am not involved directly, I am confident my agent can iron out the details of the contract in due time."

Li Tie made 33 appearances for the Toffees last season, without registering his first goal for the club.
