Leeds duo focused despite bids

Leeds boss Simon Grayson says Fabian Delph and Jermaine Beckford remain focused on the new season despite the club rejecting bids for the duo last week. United confirmed that they had received two offers for Delph from Premier League clubs - believed to be Aston Villa and Everton - as well as approaches for Beckford, but they were all turned down. Speculation continues as to whether the pair will still be at Elland Road next season but, after they put in committed performances during a pre-season friendly at York on Sunday, Grayson believes they are still in the right frame of mind. "They played on Sunday and were on the plane to Ireland with us on Monday," he said. "They're under contract here. "It's well documented that we had the bids, but they're our players. "I've had a chat with them both. I've reiterated what I expect, but I think they showed that themselves at York. "There was no going through the motions for either of them. "It'll be a group decision if anything changes but, whatever happens, it will be the right decision for the club. "They're both working hard and will be fit and ready to go for August 8, and that's all they can do. "They will be focused - no doubt about that." Beckford was placed on the transfer list at the end of last season after he rejected a contract extension but chairman Ken Bates has indicated that he would be willing to let the player run down the deal if a suitable offer fails to materialise.
