Everton boss David Moyes has persuaded England international Andrew Johnson to sign a new long-term contract with the club.
The former Birmingham City and Crystal Palace striker has penned a five-year deal which will keep him at Goodison Park until June 2012.
The new contract replaces the previous five-year deal Johnson signed when joining the club from Palace in an £8.6million deal in the summer of 2006.
Recent reports had linked the 26-year-old with a move away from Merseyside, and chairman Bill Kenwright is delighted to finally put an end to all the speculation.
He told the club's official website: "We're absolutely delighted. It's fantastic news for Evertonians.
"This deal further underlines our commitment to keep our best players at our club.
"We continue to build for the future and Andrew Johnson is very much part of that future."
Johnson has scored 13 goals in 44 appearances for Everton after finding the net 84 times in 160 games for Palace.
