Phil Jagielka has told Sky Sports News that he is in talks with Everton over agreeing a new contract. Jagielka's hugely impressive season at Goodison Park was cut short after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament last month. The England international has since undergone surgery and is unlikely to return to action until the early stages of next season. Jagielka has explained that he is settled at Everton and revealed he has opened discussions with the club over an extension to his current deal. He told Sky Sports News: "There were talks just before I got injured, and I think, by the way they are indicating, that hopefully the talks will keep going. "I am not 100 per cent sure when I will sign but, like I said, I am in no rush to go anywhere else and I hope they are in no rush to get rid of me. "It makes sense if I sign a new contract. The club suits me to a tee. The fans are fantastic, the staff are fantastic. Everton are giving me the chance to enjoy football."
