Jagielka hopes for final win
Penalty shoot-out hero Phil Jagielka is hoping Everton can go one step further and win the FA Cup.
The Toffees secured a final date with Chelsea in late May after knocking out Manchester United on penalties after a 0-0 draw at Wembley.
Jagielka stepped up to slot home the decisive spot-kick after keeper Tim Howard had earlier denied Dimitar Berbatov and Rio Ferdinand.
The victory set up Everton's first chance of a major trophy since 1995 when Paul Rideout's header saw off United in the FA Cup final.
Influential centre-half Jagielka was impressed by the vocal support of the fans and now hopes to reward the Toffees' faithful with victory over Chelsea.
"I think if you listened to them shouting today it meant a lot to them," Jagielka told Sky Sports News.
"Hopefully we can take it one step further because it would be a massive achievement to win a cup competition."
Everton were knocked out of the Uefa Cup on penalties by Fiorentina last season, with Jagielka missing from the spot and he was happy for a change of fortune.
He added: "It was a little bit of a boring 0-0, but we'll take that and for once we've won a penalty shoot-out.
"We've got our keeper to thank. He pulled off two great saves and allowed me to step up and thankfully put home the winning spot-kick."
