    Jacobsen steps up comeback

    21 Oct 2008 - 12:02:44

Denmark international Lars Jacobsen believes he will be ready to return to first-team action for Everton before Christmas.

The 29-year-old summer signing from Nurnberg has still to make his debut for David Moyes' side after dislocating his shoulder while on international duty.

However, Jacobsen is pleased with the way his recovery is going, telling the Toffees' official website: "I just got out of the sling last week, so that's positive, and I'm starting to work a bit more with my shoulder joint and try to get the movement back.

"I got injured at the worst possible time. I had only trained about five times, then I went away with the Danish national team and got this injury.

"I was very unhappy at the time of my injury but now I'm just trying to look forward to coming back. Hopefully I should be ready in December. That's all I'm focusing on at the moment.

"I haven't been able to move my arm for a few weeks and I'm just starting to get some movement back, so that feels a bit strange.

"I can't really run at the moment because it's too much for my shoulder to take, so I'm just working on the bike for my cardio and doing some exercises in the gym."
