Jacobsen unsure over future

Everton defender Lars Jacobsen is unsure what the future holds for him at Goodison Park with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. The former FC Copenhagen man has made just one appearance for the club this season after joining on a free transfer from German side Nurnberg in the summer. The 29-year-old spent the first few months of his Toffees career on the sidelines with a serious shoulder injury but since his recovery he has largely had to make do with a place on the bench. Despite his lack of game time Jacobsen has not dismissed the possibility of extending his stay at Everton. "I have a contract that expires this summer, so I have until the summer to see how it has gone in the club, see how things develop there," he told Onside.dk. "I need to see if I get some playing time and what the club says about my efforts. So it's a combination, because I will obviously have some battles in order to prove that I'm worth keeping and show the club where I am." However if Jacobsen is not handed a new deal he is confident of securing a new contract elsewhere. "I do not really know just where I stand yet," he added. "I have to wait and see what happens this summer. But I take it easy and I know I'll be able to find a new employer. "Where it all ends, I do not know yet."
