Jacobsen to decide on future

Everton defender Lars Jacobsen is set to make a decision on his future after being linked with a switch to Blackburn. The Danish defender moved to Goodison Park as a free agent last summer, penning a 12-month contract with the Toffees. He found it difficult to establish himself in the side after being initially hampered by injury but produced several good performances towards the end of the season. Jacobsen has previously insisted he would like to remain at Everton and his agent has claimed the club are keen to keep him. But reports in the Danish press now suggest he is close to signing a deal with Premier League rivals Blackburn. Rovers manager Sam Allardyce is currently working to strengthen his squad and is understood to have identified Jacobsen as a top target. Ekstra Bladet claims the 29-year-old could be set to undergo a medical with Blackburn on Monday. "I have no comment on concrete club names, but it is correct that Lars is really close to a decision on his future," Jacobsen's agent Karsten Aabriknk told Ekstra Bladet.
