Jacobsen seals Rovers switch

Blackburn have completed the signing of Denmark international defender Lars Jacobsen on a two-year deal. Jacobsen was initially brought to the Premier League by Everton boss David Moyes last summer, but his 12-month stay at Goodison Park was badly hampered by injury. The right-back suffered a dislocated shoulder while on international duty and was unable to make his mark on the first-team until the closing stages of the season. Jacobsen did enough in his limited outings, which included the second half of the FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea, to convince Sam Allardyce to move for his services on a free transfer. Allardyce has now made three summer signings following the arrivals of Gael Givet and Elrio van Heerden as he prepares for the new Premier League campaign. Jacobsen, who has previously played for Odense, Hamburg, FC Copenhagen and Nurnberg, has won 22 caps for his country. He will fill the gap left in Allardyce's squad by the departures of right-backs Andre Ooijer and on-loan Danny Simpson.
