Jack Rodwell signs improved contract with Everton

Sir Alex Ferguson had been linked with a £15 million move for the England under-21 international, who has produced a string of impressive performances since progressing to Everton's first team at the age of 16 two years ago. [LNB]Rodwell signed a five-year, £20,000-a-week contract last March but Everton manager David Moyes was keen to offer him a substantial pay-rise to ensure he is not tempted by riches elsewhere.
