And I get the impression that the present Blues set up is just the same. Leighton Baines or Phil Neville could easily have turned to the gaffer on Monday and said:
“I could do with a break tonight.”
Bainesy has been nursing an ankle problem for the last few games, while Phil had eight stitches put into a head wound at Newcastle last week. But they were both anxious to play and you wouldn’t have spotted any difference in their attitude from Monday’s Cup tie to a Premier League match. That says much for the attitude and spirit instilled in the club by David Moyes.
