Everton skipper Phil Neville has praised team-mate Tim Howard for his outstanding displays this season.
Goalkeeper Howard is on a season-long loan at Goodison Park and has impressed his former Manchester United colleague in the opening weeks of the campaign.
Neville told the Daily Post: "He is playing every game fantastically well and it's important he's playing week in week out which, to be honest, is the main reason he is here.
"He is thriving on that. He had a tremendous first season at United, his second wasn't as good for his high standards, and now he is out on loan here because he wasn't getting as many first team games last season.
"He is a fantastic keeper and is up there with the best in the Premiership.
"We have a top-class goalkeeper on our hands. We had to because Nigel Martyn was fantastic for us and that was a big act to follow.
"But we have somebody who is used to playing on the big stage at Manchester United."
