Howard - Saha is our Torres
Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has compared team-mate Louis Saha to Liverpool's star striker Fernando Torres. Former Manchester United forward Saha scored the Toffees' winner at Portsmouth on Saturday to continue a bright run of form. Howard believes that the France international, who has suffered with injuries in the past, is now as important to Everton as Torres is for Merseyside rivals Liverpool. The shot-stopper said: "Louis has been fantastic. He is so strong, he is so clever. He has got one aim which is to get himself in front of goal and hit the target. "He is our Fernando Torres. He is the guy for us, we just want him to continue doing what he is doing and keep healthy." Meanwhile, Everton boss David Moyes believes his players are not protected by referees after Steven Pienaar was carried off with a knee injury at Pompey. Moyes is already without Phil Neville, Phil Jagielka, Mikel Arteta and Victor Anichebe due to injury and he is not impressed. He said in the Daily Mirror when asked about the injury to Pienaar: "It is one of these late challenges which I'm sure should be picked up by the referee. "We lost Phil Neville against Fulham and now we may have lost another one. "Before you know it they are going to be taking all of our players out if the incidents are not picked up."
