Howard still looking for European spot

Tim Howard has sent out a warning to Everton's rivals that the Toffees' desire for a European spot has not waivered, despite recent results.[LNB] After draws with West Ham and Wolves in the Premier League in recent weeks, Everton now find themselves in eighth place, four points and one position behind Aston Villa.[LNB]The 31-year-old American goalkeeper still feels the Toffees can put the pressure on the controlling pack, meaning their game at Villa Park next Wednesday takes on particular importance.[LNB]Howard told the Liverpool Echo: "If we could have gotten a better result against West Ham and at Wolves, the Villa game would have had even more meaning in terms of allowing to have possibly gone above them on points.[LNB]"But still, we need to beat them and continue to put pressure on them and if we win, we will go one point below them.[LNB]"If we keep putting pressure on them, there's still four or five games to go for them to slip up.[LNB]"We're knocking on the door for Europe in eighth place and we know what it's going to take and the points total to get ourselves into Europe - and we're trying our best.[LNB]"Because of our last two results, we going to need other results to go our way now - we don't control our own destiny in that respect. It'll be difficult, but we still have our eyes on that."
