Howard Kendall: Marouane Fellaini jumps just like Graeme Sharp for Everton FC

Marouane Fellaini seems to have taken his game to another level this season thanks to being deployed in a more attacking role by David Moyes.

He was always a major asset for Everton as the holding midfield anchor, breaking up play and starting moves – but in his advanced position he is hurting opposition sides and it’s there that he is truly shining. He might not threat through killer passes but I love the way he takes the ball on his chest and uses it safely, bringing others into the game and getting into the box himself.

The way he jumps slightly early to win a header reminds me of Graeme Sharp. By leaping early it makes it harder for defenders to get around you – it’s all in the timing and execution. Related stories From around the web Related Tags
