Howard Kendall: Chelsea win perfect tonic for Everton FC's derby day blues

EVERTON showed great strength of character to come back and beat Chelsea.[LNB]After a slow start, and then going a goal down, the Blues developed a sudden sense of belief.[LNB]Wheher it was down to Louis Saha's first goal or David Moyes' half-time team talk, I don't know. But there was a marked difference once Everton started getting at them and closing them down, preventing Chelsea from dictating the pace.[LNB]I thought there was a level of over-confidence with some of Chelsea's players and Everton made them pay for that.[LNB]It was an important win after losing in the derby. Similar to the first derby defeat of the season in November, I thought we deserved more at Anfield.[LNB]However, the players came out of the Goodison derby with their heads held high and went on a fantastic run in the league.[LNB]Who's to say they can't go on another good run now? It was a fantastic response against Chelsea. Hopefully that can act as a spur moving forward.
