Honest Saha looks to future
14 May 2009 - 09:45:10
Striker Louis Saha claims Everton fans have not yet seen the best of him following an injury-interrupted first season at Goodison Park.
The France striker joined the Toffees on a two-and-a-half year deal from Manchester United last summer but has started just four Premier League games.
The 30-year-old missed the first four weeks of the season and then a further two-and-a-half months at the turn of the year with hamstring problems.
However, Saha is confident that he will recapture his best form at Goodison Park.
"I do think that I can give a lot, lot more," the five-goal striker told evertonTV.
"It's been a season with a bit of frustration, but I've managed to feature in most games so I am happy with it.
"But as a striker we want more goals and more assists and that's what I'm looking for."
Saha scored two goals in a 3-1 win at West Ham United back in November and the striker is hoping for a repeat performance when the teams lock horns again on Saturday.
"It would be nice," he added. "But in football that's something you can't predict and that's the magic of it.
"We are confident at home. We've got great fans and we are really hard to beat. But I do think we show great power, great desire to go forward so that's why I'm going to look forward."
