Hibbert Testimonial Announced

Everton have announced a testimonial match for loyal servant Tony Hibbert.

The match will take place on August 8th when AEK Athens visit Goodison Park, a fitting opponent as it was a meeting with the Greek outfit that saw Hibbert reach 18 European fixtures for the blues, equalling a club record.

The 31 year old joined Everton at youth level and was a member of the club's 1998 FA Youth Cup winning side. He went on to make his full debut in March 2001 as the Toffees defeated West Ham 2-0 at Upton Park and has since gone on to make over 300 appearances.

It is common knowledge throughout the club that Hibbert has never scored for Everton but the stalwart defender has confirmed that if a penalty is awarded, he will be the man to step up.

The kick-off time and ticketing details will be announced shortly.
