Atletico Madrid defender Johnny Heitinga is aware of Everton's interest but Rafael van der Vaart intends to remain at Real Madrid. Toffees boss David Moyes has confirmed a reported fee of £5million has been agreed for Heitinga ahead of Tuesday's transfer window deadline. But the Holland international has not yet given an indication over whether a move will be completed as Atletico want to retain his services. He told De Telegraaf: "The clubs came to an agreement about the transfer, however Atletico didn't want me to leave. I am a first team regular and feel very appreciated by the club." Van der Vaart has also been linked with a switch to Goodison Park following the several big names to arrive at Real this summer. But the 26-year-old playmaker has confirmed he is prepared to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu, at least until the winter transfer window. He said: "I heard Everton wanted me. Directly I have said I want to stay in Madrid. This is also to do with my personal life. "I want to fight for my place for at least a half year and then I know how good I am. If I don't play much, I can always leave in January."
