HATCHET MAN: Moyes - You need Yobo more than he needs Everton - so don't sell him out of spite

Now is not the time for David Moyes to let Joseph Yobo even consider leaving Everton. The excellent defender has fallen behind Phil Jagielka and Joleon Lescott in the defensive pecking order but the club need him more than ever. Jagielka has had knee surgery and hopes to be fit for pre-season. However, these things are unpredictable in the recovery time they take and the form they allow when a player returns and in the meantime they have an FA Cup final to play and an early start with the Europe League to consider. So if manager David Moyes is really going to invite offers for Yobo because he is set to turn down a new deal offer as he enters his final contracted year and it is not all just posturing, then he is making a big mistake. Yobo is a reliable Premier League defender at a time when there doesn't seem to be too many around and the club should find the money to convince him to stay.
