eeds manager Simon Grayson has not yet given up hope of being able to persuade Jermaine Beckford to stay at Elland Road.[LNB] Beckford, leading goalscorer at Leeds for the last three seasons and linked with a summer switch to Everton, fired the winner against Bristol Rovers on Saturday to clinch automatic promotion and although he has not signed a new contract, Grayson has not completely ruled out that possibility.[LNB]Grayson said: "The lads have gagged Jermaine and put a contract in front of him so I don't know if he will have a change of heart.[LNB]"If there's a chance of keeping Jermaine within our financial constraints then we will try and keep him because he's a fantastic player. We turned down good money in January because we wanted to win promotion. His goals have proved that was the right decision.[LNB]"He has become a hero. Whether he leaves as one is a question for another time. If we can offer him the right deal I would love him to stay.[LNB]"But if you are competing against teams from the Premier League it's a different ball game. If he does move on he'll do so with my best wishes because he's been a fantastic player for us."
