17 January 2011 12:53
Maxi Rodriguez was clever to win Liverpool theirpenalty and equalising goal in the 68th minute of thepulsating Merseyside derby.

He nicked the ball away from Everton goalkeeper TimHoward, who was committed to the challenge and fellunder the faintest of touches.

Maximum penalty: Maxi Rodriguez is brought down by Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard

The way he went down made the decision an easy one butas he was heading away from goal there was no possibilityof a red card for denial of a goal-scoring opportunity.

Some would argue that his legs were crumbling beforefull contact from Howard but for me the penalty wasabsolutely correct.
