Everton loanee Anthony Gardner is cautious about the prospects of turning his move from Tottenham Hotspur into a permanent deal.
The 26-year-old is currently sidelined by a slight injury problem, while he is also ineligible to feature for the Toffees in the UEFA Cup after playing for Spurs in the same competition earlier this season.
Gardner told his new club's official website: "At the minute I'm not sure what's going to happen in the short term.
"Everton are doing very well at the moment pushing for a Champions League spot and playing some good football, so if it was to turn out to be a permanent move, it would be a good move for me.
"At this minute in time I'm just concentrating on getting myself up to speed. I should be back in training in the next week.
"Hopefully I can contribute to what Everton are trying to achieve this year.
"It's unfortunate that I won't be involved in the UEFA Cup because I'm cup-tied."
