Fellaini shuns injuries excuse
27 Nov 2009 - 08:36:34
Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has urged his team-mates not to use a lengthy injury list as an excuse for their poor form so far this season.
The 22-year-old Belgium international believes that the Toffees have to start putting things right, starting with the Merseyside derby against Liverpool this weekend.
Fellaini told Sky Sports News: "Pressure is part of the game, we have got to go out there, do our best and try and win.
"It is no good looking over our shoulders towards the bottom. Of course we would prefer to be higher, but we have to start winning games and do it as soon as possible
"We have the same set of players playing every game and at the moment we are playing three games a week with Europe.
"Sunday is a chance to put things right against Liverpool.
"We have got to get on with it, we have talked about having lots of injuries and we can't keep using that as an excuse - we know the fans' frustration, we appreciate how good they are.
"They need to get behind us and we know that is what they will do. We will be okay on Sunday, it is our chance to prove our worth."
