Pienaar's house was raided while the midfielder was playing for Everton against Tottenham. Merseyside Police say officers were called to the house on Woolton Road in the exclusive Woolton suburb of Liverpool at about 2.30pm. Three white men were seen leaving the house with their faces covered. It is not known if any property was taken. Police said a 41-year-old local man arrested on suspicion of burglary was bailed. Pienaar became the latest in a long line of Merseyside players to be targeted by thieves. During the last few years Liverpool and Everton stars' homes have been targeted while players were on duty. Steven Gerrard's house was broken into while he was abroad on European duty. His wife Alex Curran was home when the thugs forced their way in. Likewise, the homes of Brazilian Lucas Leiva, ex-keeper Jerzy Dudek, defender Daniel Agger and current Liverpool goalkeeper Jose Reina were all burgled.
