Everton striker Anichebe 'deeply upset' after being mistaken as jeweller raider by police

Victor Anichebe is said to be deeply upset after being swooped on by police as he looked in a jeweller's window.[LNB]The Everton [LNB]striker, wearing a leg cast following knee surgery, was with a friend when officers pounced on suspicion that they were part of a gang of raiders.[LNB]Waiting for an apology: Everton striker Victor Anichebe[LNB]Directed by CCTV operators, police rushed to the scene in Knutsford, Cheshire, and began a 'heated dialogue' with Everton's Victor Anichebe and his friend.[LNB]The 20-year-old striker's pal was put in handcuffs after police believed the duo were possibly part of gang of raiders responsible for robberies on exclusive King Street.[LNB]Everton spokesman Ian Ross said: 'Victor was deeply upset and very distressed by the incident. I believe he is still waiting for a full and unreserved apology from the police involved.[LNB]'Once he has received that both the club and the player will consider the matter closed.'[LNB]Cheshire Police would not answer alleged comments from the pair that white men would not have received the same treatment.
