Everton manager David Moyes believes this could be the season for his side to deliver in the FA Cup for the first time in 18 years.

Everton, who last lifted the trophy in 1995, face Wigan on Saturday in their third FA Cup quarter-final appearance in five years, having reached the final in 2009 and the last four 12 months ago.

The closest Moyes has come to winning a trophy in his 11 years at Goodison was the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Wembley four years ago.

This is only the 18th meeting; Everton have won nine and lost two of the previous 17. Wigan's only victory over Everton at Goodison Park came back in 2005. Roberto Martinez will need a top performance from his side if they are to progress to the latter stages of the competition.

Moyes'star man this season, Marouane Fellaini has hit 12 goals in all competitions so far. The Belgian international will be a crucial part of Moyes' plans this weekend, and with a semi-final fixture beckoning, Moyes will keen on rallying his troops up for what promises to be a classic FA Cup game.
