Everton FC's Kevin Mirallas to undergo a scan

Kevin Mirallas will undergo a scan early this week on the hamstring injury which forced him off during Everton FC's 2-1 win over Sunderland.

The Belgian forward was impressive before limping off before the interval and David Moyes is hopeful his summer signing won’t be sidelined too long, but must wait on the scan results before knowing if he will be available for the game against Reading on Saturday. He said:

“It looks as if (Kevin) has maybe got a slight hamstring injury. I don’t think it’s too bad but until it’s been scanned we wouldn't be able to say what it was.

“He’ll be disappointed he had to come off, as we were. “It was a blow because whenever he got the ball he looked a real threat.

“You’ve got to say, every time he’s been on the pitch for us he’s looked a real threat, either creating chances or looking as if he’s going to score, and he probably looked the most likely to score in the first 30 minutes today.”

Mirallas was due to meet up with the Belgium squad ahead of their midweek friendly against Romania but the injury means he will now remain on Merseyside. Related stories From around the web Related Tags
