Everton FC to host Carlisle United in FA Cup third round

EVERTON will face Carlisle at home in the third round of the FA Cup while Liverpool travel to Championship side Reading.[LNB]And if Tranmere can win their second round replay at Aldershot Town, they'll be rewarded with a visit from Premier League side Wolves at Prenton Park.[LNB]David Moyes' men were handed a home tie in yesterday afternoon's draw, which took place at Wembley.[LNB]And Everton have an unblemished cup record against the Cumbrians, but the two sides haven't faced off since the 1976/76 season, when Everton won 2-0 in the League Cup.[LNB]Previously, Carlisle had recorded two league wins over Everton in 1974/75 and suffered two defeats in the FA Cup - in 1967/68 and 1929/30.[LNB]Former Everton centre-half Derek Mountfield provides a link between the teams, having played for the now-League One outfit in the mid-nineties.[LNB]Managed by Greg Abbott, they are currently 17th in League One.[LNB]Speaking after Everton's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool, midfielder Steven Pienaar said: 'I think it's a good draw for us but at the moment we are thinking about the next game and that is AEK.'
