Everton FC is perfect place for lifting the blues for Philippe Senderos

Philippe Senderos, Everton FC[LNB]IF PHILIPPE Senderos ever suffers a moment of self-doubt after being allowed to leave Arsenal, he only has to have a quiet word with his Everton team-mates.[LNB]The Swiss defender, who has joined the Blues on loan between now and the end of the season, does not have to look far for sparkling examples of players who reacted well to adversity.[LNB]Steven Pienaar and Mikel Arteta are now considered two of the finest midfielders in the Premier League.[LNB]But the both men have, at one point in their careers, found themselves unwanted and cast aside after frustrating spells with other clubs.[LNB]When Pienaar joined Borussia Dortmund in January 2006, the South African was seen as a direct replacement for Arsenal-bound Tomas Rosicky.[LNB]Things did not go to plan however, and he failed to find form and fill the boots of the popular Czech playmaker.[LNB]It took a loan move to Everton to re-ignite his career and help him re-discover his self belief.[LNB]Likewise Arteta. The Everton hero joined his home-town club Real Sociedad for 5.2 million Euros in 2004 as a replacement for Xabi Alonso.[LNB]After the disappointment of being released by Barcelona as a youngster, it was an opportunity to prove the La Liga critics wrong.[LNB]The move did not work out, and once again David Moyes came calling with a loan offer. Neither have looked back since.[LNB]Such is the task facing Senderos. The cultured defender has been warned by Swiss coach Ottmar Hitzfeld that he faces losing his place in the World Cup squad if he does not play more football.[LNB]Yet the softly-spoken 24-year-old shuns any notion of self-pity, and already sounds determined to make his loan tenure at Goodison count.[LNB]He said: 'Maybe it's an opportunity for me to come here to Everton and prove who I am. It is more for myself than anyone else.[LNB]'In the summer I was told by Arsenal that I could find a new club if I wanted. The end of the road was the summer, really. I could have left Arsenal then but it didn't happen. There was some talk (about a move to Everton) but it did not go through for different reasons.[LNB]'I am delighted it has gone through this time.
