Everton boss David Moyes issues warning to Steven Pienaar

Everton manager David Moyes has told Steven Pienaar he will be making a mistake if he tries to force his way out of Everton this summer.[LNB] South Africa midfielder Pienaar, who will be the posterboy of the host nation at this summer's World Cup, has begun talks with a season left on his contract.[LNB] Warning: Everton's Steven Pienaar[LNB] Moyes is eager to avoid a repeat of the bitter and protracted departure of Joleon Lescott to Manchester City last summer and is adamant Pienaar's would be best advised to stay.[LNB] The Everton manager, whose side face West Ham today, said: 'Steven Pienaar is at a club that really suits him and sometimes a player has to decide what is best for them.[LNB] 'Everton has been good for Steven. If anybody wanted to leave, they'd be poorer for it. Most people that have left here, it's not tended to work out for them.'[LNB] Moyes is also eager to keep Jack Rodwell, one of the brightest teenagers in the country, by offering him an improved deal.[LNB] Rodwell, 19, a Manchester United target, is contracted until 2014 but Moyes said: 'I do know there's something on-going at the moment and they're in talks.[LNB] 'I think we're all quite excited about what we've got here.'
