Everton boost as defender Phil Jagielka signs new four-year deal

Everton defender Phil Jagielka has signed a new four-year contract with the club. The deal replaces his existing one, which was due to expire in 2014.[LNB]Jagielka has been one of manager David Moyes major transfer successes, having arrived from Sheffield United in 2007 and won the club's player of the year award the following season despite sustaining a serious knee injury in the second half of the campaign.[LNB] Welcomed with open arms: Phil Jagielka has been a revelation on Merseyside since his switch from Sheffield United[LNB]'I'm really pleased,' Jagielka told the club.
