Everton's summer signing Leighton Baines is relishing the prospect of European football, ahead of Thursday's UEFA Cup first round clash with Ukrainians Metalist Kharkiv.
The 22-year-old England Under-21 international has settled in well at Goodison Park following his arrival from Wigan Athletic and is looking forward to another fresh challenge.
He told the Daily Post: "I'm still getting to know the lads and finding out different things about the way they play.
"You see them in training, but it's not until you play in a game that you really get to know everything about each other.
"So far it has gone okay and hopefully as we play together more, we will be able to develop.
"We've got an ideal game to pick ourselves up now. It's a complete variation on the game against Manchester United.
"We are playing a team that we know absolutely nothing about, but this is what being in Europe is all about. We are all looking forward to it.
"Playing in Europe was a big factor in wanting to come here. I haven't managed to play in Europe at club level before, so I can't wait."
