Davies happy at Everton

Wales midfielder Simon Davies has denied rumours suggesting he plans to leave Everton in January.

The 26-year-old was reported to be considering his future after struggling to hold down a regular first-team place in the early weeks of the season.

However, he started Saturday's 2-1 loss at Middlesbrough and insists his sights are set on re-establishing himself in David Moyes' plans at Goodison Park.

Davies told the Liverpool Echo: "I've spoken to the manager and my relationship with him is fine.

"If I keep working hard, I'm sure it will change. This is a great club and I really want to establish myself here.

"The squad is full of great lads, young players with stacks of ability. Why would anyone want to leave? Hopefully we can stay together for the next few years and take this club to be regularly challenging for a place in Europe."

Davies joined Everton from Tottenham in a £3.5million deal in the summer of 2005, but has since started only 24 top-flight matches.
